Structure
V-辞書形 + 一方（で）；い形（普通形）+ 一方（で）；N + の + 一方（で）
Explanation
Expresses a contrast, "on the one hand... on the other hand...". Attaches to the dictionary form of verbs, plain adjectives, or の + noun. The main clause contrasts with the premise.
Examples
この店は味がいい一方で、値段が高いです。
This restaurant has good food on the one hand, but it's expensive on the other.
経済が発展する一方で、環境問題が深刻になっています。
While the economy develops, environmental problems are getting worse.
Note
一方（で） expresses contrast; 一方だ expresses a trend (see next point). Keep them distinct.
