Explanation
Indicates starting point (time/place) or reason. Place+から=from, Time+から=from/since, Clause+から=because.
Examples
学校から家まで10分です。
It is 10 minutes from school to home.
寒いから、コートを着ます。
Because it is cold, I will wear a coat.
Note
When から expresses reason, the second half should not be imperative. Use ので for politeness.
