Explanation

Connects two nouns, listing all items (exhaustive). Contrast with や (partial listing, implying there are more).

Examples

机の上に本とペンがあります。

There is a book and a pen on the desk.

私は英語と日本語を話します。

I speak English and Japanese.

Note

と=exhaustive (only these), や=partial (there are others). For 3+ items: 〜と〜と〜.
