Explanation

No sooner is the first action done than the second happens again, often repeatedly.

Examples

掃除するそばから、子供が部屋を散らかす。

No sooner do I clean than the kids mess up the room again.

覚えるそばから、忘れていく。

I forget things as soon as I learn them.

Note

Emphasizes a repeated cycle. Unlike が早いか, そばから is often used when efforts are in vain.
