Structure
普通形/N + ばかりか（〜も／まで）
Explanation
Not only the first clause, but the second (even more surprising) too. Attached to nouns or the plain form of verbs/adjectives. Stronger than だけでなく.
Examples
彼は漢字が読めないばかりか、ひらがなも書けない。
Not only can he not read kanji, he can't even write hiragana.
彼女は成績がいいばかりか、スポーツも万能だ。
Not only is she a good student, she excels at sports too.
Note
Synonymous with のみならず and だけでなく, but more colloquial and emphatic. Often with も/まで.
