Structure
V-辞書形 + ほかない／よりほかない
Explanation
Indicates that there is no alternative but to do the action, with a tone of helplessness or regret. Attached to the dictionary form of verbs (する → するほかない).
Examples
こうなった以上、あきらめるほかない。
Now that it's come to this, there's no choice but to give up.
自分でやるよりほかはない。
There's no alternative but to do it myself.
Note
Similar to しかない and ざるを得ない, but ほかない emphasizes helplessness. Often in the form 〜するほかない.
