V-た形 + ところで
Explanation
Indicates that even if one does the first action, it will have no effect or good result; the main clause is negative or futile, often with 無駄だ or しかない. A stronger version of ても.
Examples
今さら後悔したところで、何も変わらない。
Regretting it now won't change anything.
急いで行ったところで、もう間に合わないだろう。
Even if we hurry, we probably won't make it in time.
Note
Unlike たところ, たところで is concessive; the main clause is a negative conclusion, often with 〜ない, 無駄だ, or しかない.
