Structure
数量 + がかり；総 + がかり
Explanation
Two uses: ① number + がかり indicates time taken (3時間がかり); ② 総がかり means all members working together.
Examples
大掃除は5時間がかりで終わりました。
The big cleanup took 5 hours.
町の総がかりでお祭りを準備しました。
The whole town worked together to prepare the festival.
Note
がかり with a number marks time taken; 総がかり means everyone joining in.
