Structure

V-ます形(語幹)+ きる / きれる / きれない

Explanation

Attached to the masu-stem of verbs, きる indicates doing something completely or to the end (食べきる). The negative きれない means "cannot finish all" (読みきれない).

Examples

このケーキは一人で食べきれません。

I can't finish this cake by myself.

彼は最後まで走りきりました。

He ran all the way to the end.

Note

きる means completely; きれる means able to finish; きれない means unable to finish all.
