〜というと

Structure

N + というと / といえば / といったら

Takes up a mentioned or imagined topic, "speaking of...". Attaches to a noun (日本料理というと、寿司ですね).

日本料理というと、すぐ寿司を思い出します。

Speaking of Japanese food, I immediately think of sushi.

夏休みといえば、海に行くのが定番ですね。

Speaking of summer vacation, going to the beach is a classic.

というと/といえば introduce a topic and trigger associations; different from といったら (exclamation).

〜といったら〜と言うと
