Explanation
Attached to the masu-stem of verbs, い-adjectives minus い, or な-adjective stems, 〜すぎる indicates an excessive degree, "too...". Conjugates as an ichidan verb.
Examples
このスープは塩辛すぎます。
This soup is too salty.
昨日はお酒を飲みすぎました。
I drank too much yesterday.
Note
〜すぎる often carries a negative evaluation. In speech 〜すぎ is also used (e.g., 暑すぎ). With な-adjectives: 静かすぎる.
