Structure
V-ている/ない形 + うちに；い形 + うちに；N + の + うちに
Explanation
〜うちに expresses doing something while a state lasts, "while... / before...". Often used with state expressions (若いうちに, 明るいうちに). 〜ないうちに means "before it becomes...".
Examples
若いうちに、いろいろな経験をしたいです。
I want to have various experiences while I'm young.
暗くならないうちに、家に帰りましょう。
Let's go home before it gets dark.
Note
With 〜うちに the following action is completed once within the period; with 〜間 the following action continues. Keep the difference in mind.
