Explanation
V-dictionary/ta + なり: the moment the first action ends, the second happens.
Examples
彼は家に帰るなり、ソファに倒れて寝てしまった。
The moment he got home, he collapsed on the sofa and fell asleep.
彼女は話を聞くなり、笑い出した。
She burst out laughing the moment she heard the story.
Note
The main clause is an instantaneous action. Synonymous with が早いか/そばから.
