Explanation
Even if one does the first action, it is already too late or useless; often with 今さら.
Examples
今さら後悔したところで、どうにもならない。
Regretting it now won't help anything.
急いだところで、もう間に合わない。
Even if we hurry, it's too late now.
Note
Synonymous with ても, but stresses futility or lateness. The main clause is usually negative.
