Structure

N + たる;N + たるもの

Explanation

The literary attributive form of である (as being...). たるもの means as someone who is..., one must...; the main clause is an obligation.

Examples

政治家たるもの、常に国民の立場で考えるべきだ。

As politicians, they should always think from the people's standpoint.

彼は一国の首相たる人物だ。

He is a man worthy of being a prime minister.

Note

たる is the literary form of である. Common: 教師たるもの/大人たるもの, with べきだ/なければならない.
