Structure
普通形 + ものだから；N + な + ものだから
Explanation
Because of the first clause, the second happened; used to explain or excuse. Attached to the plain form of verbs/adjectives or noun + な. もんだから is the colloquial form.
Examples
昨夜遅くまで起きていたものだから、今朝は起きられなかった。
Because I stayed up late last night, I couldn't get up this morning.
道が込んでいたものだから、遅れてしまいました。
I was late because the roads were congested.
Note
Colloquial, with an explanatory/excusing tone. The main clause cannot be a command or volition. More subjective than から.
