N + で（原因・理由）
Explanation
で marks a reason or cause, "because of...". Attaches directly to nouns (風邪で休む). More concise than から/ので.
Examples
風邪で会社を休みました。
I took a day off work because of a cold.
大雪で新幹線が運休になりました。
The shinkansen was cancelled due to heavy snow.
Note
で (reason) attaches to nouns for objective causes. Note the difference from で (means/place).
