〜てほしい
I want you to... / hope (someone) does...
Structure
V-て形 + ほしい
Explanation
Expresses the wish that someone does something, "I want you to...". Attaches to the te-form + ほしい.
Examples
もう少しゆっくり話してほしいです。
I'd like you to speak a little more slowly.
困った時は、いつでも相談してほしいです。
I want you to talk to me whenever you're in trouble.
Note
てほしい directly expresses a wish for someone to do something; ないでほしい means "please don't...".
