Structure
V-て形 + 済む；N + で + 済む
Explanation
Indicates that something is resolved at a light cost, "it ends with...". E.g., 謝って済む問題. The negative 済まない means "cannot be resolved by...".
Examples
謝って済む問題なら、すぐ謝ります。
If it's a problem an apology can solve, I'll apologize right away.
費用は1000円で済みました。
The cost was only 1,000 yen.
Note
て済む means resolving lightly; て済まない means it cannot be resolved so easily.
