Structure
V-て形 + しかたがない；い形（くて）+ しかたがない
Explanation
Indicates an overwhelming feeling or sensation, "can't help but... / terribly...". Attaches to the te-form or くて-form of adjectives.
Examples
合格できるかどうか、心配で仕方がありません。
I can't help worrying about whether I'll pass.
彼に会いたくて仕方がない。
I can't stop wanting to see him.
Note
てしかたがない is close to てたまらない/てならない, expressing strong feelings.
