Structure
V-た形 + ら；い形（過去形）+ ら；N/な形（だった）+ ら
Explanation
Verb ta-form + ら expresses: ① a hypothetical condition, "if..."; ② a discovery after the action, "when I did..., I found..." (e.g., 家に帰ったら、手紙が来ていた).
Examples
家に帰ったら、電話してください。
Please call me when you get home.
窓を開けたら、雪が降っていました。
When I opened the window, it was snowing.
Note
たら is the most versatile conditional and can follow any word class. Compared with ば, と and なら, たら suits accidental or personal conditions.
