V-ます形（語幹）+ がちだ／がちの；N + がちだ／がちの
Explanation
Attached to the masu-stem of verbs or to nouns, indicating a tendency toward something, usually negative: 忘れがち, 遅れがち, 病気がち. Also used as 〜がちのN to modify nouns.
Examples
忙しい時ほど、大切なことを忘れがちだ。
The busier we are, the more likely we are to forget important things.
彼は最近、仕事を休みがちだ。
Lately he tends to take time off work.
Note
〜がち is used for negative tendencies; 〜やすい can also be used for positive ones. Compared with 〜気味, 〜がち suggests a stronger, more habitual tendency.
