V-ます形（語幹）+ ながら（も）；な形語幹/N + ながら（も）
Explanation
A concessive pattern ("although... still...") contrasting the two clauses, often with dissatisfaction or surprise. Attached to the masu-stem of verbs, na-adjective stems, or nouns (悪いと知りながら、やってしまった).
Examples
彼は体が不自由でありながら、立派に働いている。
Although he is physically disabled, he works admirably.
上司に反対されながらも、自分の意見を貫いた。
Although opposed by his boss, he stuck to his opinion.
Note
The concessive ながら(も) requires the same subject in both clauses. Synonymous with つつも but more colloquial. Don't confuse it with the simultaneous ながら.
