Structure
V/い形（普通形）+ おかげで；N + の + おかげで
Explanation
Indicates that a good result came about because of something, "thanks to...". Can also be used ironically for negative results. Attaches to plain verb/adjective forms or の + noun.
Examples
先生のおかげで、日本語が上手になりました。
Thanks to my teacher, my Japanese has improved.
電車がすぐ来たおかげで、間に合いました。
Thanks to the train arriving quickly, I made it in time.
Note
おかげで is used for positive results; せいで for negative ones. In speech, おかげさまで is a fixed polite phrase.
