〜まま

Structure
V-た形/ない形 + まま；N + の + まま
Explanation
Verb ta/nai-form + まま or noun + の + まま means doing something while keeping a state unchanged, "as is" (e.g., 立ったまま話す, 電気をつけたまま寝る).
Examples
靴を履いたまま、部屋に入らないでください。
Please don't enter the room with your shoes on.
電気をつけたまま寝てしまいました。
I fell asleep with the lights on.
Note
〜まま emphasizes that a state remains unchanged. In speech 〜たままで is common. Unlike 〜ながら (simultaneous actions), まま keeps the prior state.
