〜てもらう（〜ていただく）
to have someone do... / to get someone to do... for me
Structure
V-て形 + もらう / いただく
Explanation
Verb te-form + もらう expresses having someone do something for you, with the doer marked by に. 〜ていただく is the more polite form. E.g., 先生に日本語を教えてもらう.
Examples
友達に駅まで送ってもらいました。
I had my friend drive me to the station.
先生に作文を直していただきました。
I had the teacher correct my composition.
Note
てもらう takes the beneficiary's viewpoint. ていただく shows respect to the doer. 〜てもらえないか is a soft request.
